My other half is not quite as computer sympathetic as me, every morning she listens to web radio on our NPVR client when she's ready to go to work she just hits the power button on the client which puts it to sleep.
The problem is when it wakes up it plays music for about 3 seconds from where it left off in the morning either from the buffer of from what's left of the file in Temp then quite understandably craps itself.
What do other people do to either get a the box in a "tidy state" before sleep, or tidy up when woken, I guess one option is to use the wakeup.bat to kill NPVR then restart it?

ir server suite run a macro as it goes to sleep
easiest is to run a macro to shutdown next pvr as the pc goes to sleep
then a delayed start when it wakes up (to make sure network etc is connected)

Just had a play with eventghost, I'm finding it much easier to get my head around and it looks like it'll do the trick.

The Harmony remote appears to send a STOP (ctrl-S), when a diferent activity is selected or the OFF button is pushed, prior to switching activities or powering off. You could maybe implement that in a macro in your remote software. However, in the recordings menu, ctrl-S toggles the sort mode which is somewhat annoying, so that might be a show stopper.

Sounds like you have moved on to event ghost (hard to program if you ask me)
but in ir server you set your remote in the server bit
then open the translater to do the extra bits
