Getting Redrat3 to channel change

Can anybody advise a new user please on getting this working.

1. Can't get the Redrat Changer Plugin to work - is this just for the Redrat 2 or should it work with 3?

2. The .exe Changer Plugin does not do anything even though the Redrat SendMacroW command works fine outside GB-PVR (and from within Showshifter). I've put it in the root (C:\SendMacroW) to avoid possible path problems and have tried both {channel} and explicit channel number.

3. Only other possible solution is Girder but I would rather not be pushed down this route (or wait for Hauppauge to get round to supporting UK sat boxes with the IRBlaster).

There is not a lot to configure with these and I get no feedback/errors/logs, so I'm a bit stuck. I'm using a PBR-150 card with svideo input with the latest 9010 GB-PVR release.

I am also assuming that it should change channel when I select both watch and record from the guide (I've tried both).

I'm using the redrat (great little box)

Anyway, I've written a small batch file, that calls RR_CLI to output the signals. In addition I've a small exe file that takes the three digit channel and outputs the individual numbers (using RR_CLI). The reason I did it this way was lazyiness in creating individual macros, and I like to have POWER, BACKUP,BACUP,BACKUP, CHANNEL,BACKUP to ensure channel gets set.

So far works great.

I'm trying to learn how to use the RedRat too...

are you willing to publish your redrat application, I too have failed to get the redrat plugin to work and would like something simple.

I came back to GB-PVR recently and now my Redrat3 works with both the plugin and the .exe changer - don't know why it now works!

For the plugin you need to create a new profile in the settings from the GB-PVR configure source screen. This memorises the 0-9 digits of the remote.

The plugin solution is limited in that it can only send the 3 digits. The exe solution allows the use of Redratcontrol to send something like "backup-backup-power-1-2-3" which ensures it works if the box is off or in some config screen etc - i.e. what onestar does with the CLI.
The only way I could get this to work was to name the macros to be the actual channel numbers in redratcontrol. Then you can use sendmacro.exe with {channel} and it runs the right macro as they match up.
