sorry i missed the bit where you said you could see you can see the recordings but live tv doesnt work
so your sharing is now working

do recordings playback ?(uses streaming)
also see if it played back from videos ?(file sharing)
make sure your recordings folder and buffer folders are shared properly also

OK, I'll bite. How may this be achieved?

And is it possible to have both OS's on a dual boot system accessing the same instal of NextPVR on a separate drive (so that guide info, recordings and such is current on both)?

What you need to do is ta create a C:\Users\Public folder, them move the entire NPVR tree from where it is today to the Public folder under Users you just created. Then you must update the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\NPVR\DataDirectory to point to C:\Users\Public\NPVR, the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\InstallDirectory should not be affeted.

If you want to run in a dual boot configuration you should have tha data directory on a drive that does not change drive letter, ie has the same drive letter under both XP and W7. I had this successfully working for a while placing Users\Public\NPVR on the D: drive.

Note that if you are installing W7x64 the appropiate registry settings are under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432NODE\NPVR
