I cannot get the live tv section to work with my pinnacle 300i. It is recognised in the playback section but when i try to use the Tuning assistant it says it cannot find the specified card. I am using the PCTV (PAL) card, which is what i thought the 300i fundamentally is.

Any help would be great.

I have no idea if this is helping, but there is some discussion about the 300i in this thread.

it seems the most of what is being talked about in this thread has been added to the new version.

I'm still having problems with the tuning of channels. i can add the card to the direct.ini file so it appears in the list at the start of TuningAssistant but i don't know anyof the sttings to get the card to work.

Would the graphedit.exe tool be any help with getting this to work?

First off, I dont own one of these devices, so I dont really know anything about it...

Isnt the Pinnacle 300i a DVB-T card? If so, then this shouldnt be added to direct.ini, which is intended for analog cards (with onboard MPEG2 encoders). The tuning assistent isnt for use with DVB cards. Instead you should use the 'Map EPG channels to digital channels'.

The name "PCTV" is more of branding thing that Pinnacle use to relate these device together, but fundementally the DVB-T devices are very different from other Pinnacle PCTV cards.

The 300i is a dual digital/analog card. Does this mean the analog tuner is not supported in the current version?

I was trying to get the card to work with the rf out on my sky box which is an analog signal hence using the tunning assistant.

I still cannot get any tv signal even using the 'Map EPG channels to digital channels'. Although this completes successfully when i go to watch the live tv section in the app i get the error 'channel tuning information not known'

Does this make any sense?

No the analog tuner is not supported, and unlikely to be ever supported (unless they send me a freebie).

You have to preform the 'Map EPG channels to digital channels', or you'll get this 'Map EPG channels to digital channels'.

Send your log files to me at support@devnz.com and I'll take a look.

i have worked out the map channels to epg bit but now it wont find any channels. i can find channels through other programs but i only get a preview of 2 channels and when it finishes it says no channels were found.

i am also getting an error about not having cbyerlink etc. installed even though i have already installed both programs.

Any ideas ?
