hi all,

It has been a long time using gbpvr and now nextpvr. Nice products. Smile
So i am planing to upgrade my hardware this year. i will run nextpvr on the following hardware:
Zotac ZBox AD02 with this hauppage usb capture card: WinTV HVR-900 and with windows 7 as the os.
I read that some users have problems recording tv shows when the htpc wakes from the standby mode and having and usb capture card.
Is this a common problem?

Best regards /T

I've got 2 systems running NPVR and never have problems with sleep though there are times that after a show is over, my system does not go into sleep again but my tinkering has shown it's other things that keep it awake. I've not missed a show due to sleep but I have hibernation off on my pc's......I stick to standby.
I recall reading years back when standby was just beginning to work with hardware like it should that due to the amount of RAM used in hibernation, it is best to just set it not to hibernate.
There are some free programs that have helped some with sleep problems that you can try as well such as MCE Standby Tool.

I have two machines with nova-t-500's in (a PCI card but are really USB tuners with VIA PCI<>USB chips on board).

One runs XP and GBPVR and about once a month the tuner becomes unavailable until rebooted.
The other runs W7 and NPVR (was GBPVR) and has not shown this problem.

Whether the difference is USB hardware onboard, O/S or device manage settings I am not sure. I have spent a lot of time trying to pin it down bu gave up. I would guess that most people are fine with USB tuners and it is motherboard oddities that create the problem.
