johnnysocko Wrote:Sorry - no offense. That is understood. My question was mostly specifically related to if the actual recording part between the card and what nextpvr gets applied to disc, and really was just trying to learn a little bit about it in the process, which I've done.

And, sorry, I misread your reply, and if that's a real question and not tongue in cheek, that's what I'm doing. Recordings are just tagging along in a separate folder. Plex is primarily serving up the library of ripped dvds currently housed on the same desktop.

I don't know of any readily available solution, which would be easy to setup, for NPVR to stream to the GTV platform.

Appreciate the input.
If you skip the Plex part and connect your tv directly to your videocard output and play the recordings with npvr (as it is supposed to), does it look better?

I'm judging from your suggestion you've never tried to stream through this Google TV setup. If anyone has first hand experience with making that work, I'm willing to give it a try.

Actually no, I'v never seen one :o. But I assumed (wrongly?) that it had some kind of hdmi/dvi/vga input?

Actually, that wasn't a bad suggestion, but getting a cable from one to the other isn't worth the trouble. So, I did one better, used NPVR to download and play a direct recording rather than via Plex. Then, played same through Plex, which I've got set for direct play which should be bypassing any possibility for transcoding on Plex's part. Archie Bunker doesn't look much different either way. Looks like Plex isn't doing such a bad job after all.
