This is a wishlist item for plugin developers (I strongly suspect) as while sub has not come out & said he will not do something in the future, he also hasn't done anything after all the years I have seen requests for some form of Recordings groups/indicators etc.
(OK so recently these requests have been few & far between but I don't know why as not knowing who has watched what & left if for the other to watch/delete is often a "heated discussion" in our household)

This comment also seems to apply to Alibert & his TVListings/TVRecordings plugin
(even though it looks to me like the ideal candidate for it)

Ideally would be some sort of (database driven??) Recording Groups that recordings went into at recording time, with the option to manually change recording names etc. when setting the recording up & some way to move them from group to group from within the NextPVR GUI (Myth has had something along these lines for years)

Least ideal but simplest (& we could live with it type wish Wink ) Would be some way on the press key/s & for it to display indicator/s in the Recordings view (skinning wise fairly simple to add something like different coloured portions/little horizontal flat boxs (like the current default Rec indicator but turned sideways & maybe thinner) at the top or bottom of the ListItem & the individual users decide which colours (combinations) mean what to/for them.

I was going to write a Recordings plugin as sub's is functional but limited, but decided it wasn't worth the effort, first because (based on logs) the majority of old and, significantly, new users, install TV Listings/Recordings so there already is defacto standard and second because I don't think Manual Recordings belong there and I don't want to write this logic too.

Oh well <resigned look>

Must be that all the other users that wished for something like this in the past have moved on.... pity....

I did try to get improvements to the way the built in Videos worked & I even tried to get Alibert to do some work on his one in TVRecording so I could use one of them as an alternative to Recordings...... but at least I have been updating my hardware with the thought/option of moving back to Myth in the future so I may be forced to move on as well Sad

On the other hand maybe I should have asked what other multi-user families do to get around this problem??

I'm still here! I've just resigned myself to not having this (very useful) functionality implemented (yet?). We just try to make due with using the single watched indicator to show if one of us has already watched the recording. If so, then when the other of us watches it, he/she deletes the show. It usually works fairly well, but is definitely not ideal.

BrettB, if it is mainly watched indicators and resumes you are interested a basic solution is

1 Create a symbolic link to your Recordings folder with mklink, put it wherver you'd link

mklink /D C:\Recordings "C:\BrettB's Recordings"

2. Add the linked folder to Video Library.

3. Add this to your Default\Video\Videos.xml file to get the watched indicator in

(under)<Element name="ListItemNormal" location="0.77,15.45" size="35.89,4.64" alpha="255" alphaFade="true">

<Image source="..\recordings\watched.png" visible="@alreadyViewed" location="0.4,5" size="2,90"/>

4. Only have one person responsible for deleting.

We would use something like this. Our household pretty much resorts to, "hey, you watch this yet? Can I delete it?"

If I managed to find the time, I'll try to add something.

It will be very much appreciated "if you manage to find time" sometime before the next couple of releases..... I have waited this long so waiting some more time isn't a problem Smile
