Strange DCR-2650 recording problem

I'm having another strange problem with recordings on the DCR2650. Two nights in a row I've seen this, where a recording did not start properly because the tuner was locked up (the other issue I'm trying to resolve) so I cancel the recording and delete it. I reboot the tuner, reschedule the same program to record and it starts to record, but the .ts file is bad, it's not 0 byte, but only grows very slowly by hundreds of bytes.

I can watch the program live, and a manual recording will record the channel fine. I recorded the next program with prepadding and it worked, but the recording stopped after about 5 minutes (NPVR showed it still recording, the tuner had locked up), and then that program would not record again.

Edit: Also the tuner status information page shows exactly the same data for a good recording and a bad recording

Do you have a example of one of these .ts files so I can see whats in it?

I'll try to get one for you. But I just read about similar problems on the Sage forum here (that Martin directed me to recently) which might indicate copy protection issues again, along with other new problems reported.

Attached is about a 10 minute recording, 2MB .ts file.

There isnt too much to go on in that file. It is a valid ts file, but it looks like the device wasn't delivering audio/video packets as part of the transport stream (or stopped a second or so after tuning).

Yes, I'm pretty sure this a problem with the tuner, not NPVR.
