Recently my computer has stopped going to sleep on it's own. It was doing this with 2.4.3 and now I upgraded to 2.5.5. Kinda came out of no wheres.

If I shutdown the NPVR services (from the menu), and restart them, it will go to sleep just fine (and right away).

But I think on the next time it wakes for a recording, it won't until I restart NPVR services.

I originally thought it might be comskip post-processing that got stuck, but I checked the task manager, and it isn't running. (and I'm at 99% idle).

Where is a good place to start? I'd rather not wipe and reset NPVR.

Thanks

(which logs would be helpful as well?)

Mine does this to me from time to time for no apparent reason....I make no changes, no Windows updates etc. but then it usually goes away. Once I had to reflash my BIOS to get it to work. Mostly, I just change the power options to something else then back to what I had them set on and it fixes it.
However, I have been using MCE Standby Tool and it has helped me greatly.
Finally, if you are using wireless mouse and keyboard, make sure the Power Management section is unchecked to 'allow the device to wake the computer'. This is also helpful on some network cards.
And, you can try forcing the system to sleep and when it wakes, go to a command prompt and type powercfg -lastwake and it should tell you what device woke the system.

In recently moving to a headless server I've encountered a few problems that I have resolved by doing the following

1) Over the years I've had trouble keeping Media Center and on top of performance issues in NextPVR when it does run I my computer won't go to sleep even when my power options turn of the multi-media sharing features. These entries in my Wakeup.bat file seem to resolve this issue

Code:
net stop ehRecvr
net stop ehSched
taskkill /IM ehmsas.exe /f
taskkill /IM ehtray.exe /f

2) I want to enable WOL but I need to only enable WOL since most network activity seemed to keep it away.

Setting up my network card like the attached image seems to fix this.

Thanks for the responses. I farted around with it for a couple hours this morning.

As soon as I shutdown NPVR/NRecord, it will go to sleep. If I restart it, it will sleep for a little while then get stuck.

I just wound up exporting all my recordings, uninstalling NPVR, wiping the application data directory.

Didn't take long to rebuild everything. Import the recordings, download the channel list from schedules direct.

It's done a couple recordings automatically, and it was asleep when i got home.

I must of had something corrupt in a database or config file.

I'll see how it holds up over the next few days.
