I no longer have a 4:3 screen here, so can't easily test these aspect ratio modes. Does this "-0.17,0,1.17,1" aspect ratio do the job for you? If you're happy that it meets your needs, then I can add it in the next release.

They work very well on my 4:3. Could you also include an aspect ratio key for mce remotes. I have modified your key mapping file but it would be good to have a key for this out of the box. Keymap changes in posts above.

Here's what I use which covers all situations. The names are a little misleading perhaps, just what we're used to here:
Code:
<AspectRatioModes shape="4:3">
      <AspectRatioMode name="Fill">0,0,1,1</AspectRatioMode>
      <AspectRatioMode name="LetterBox">-0.17,-0.02,1.17,1.02</AspectRatioMode>
      <AspectRatioMode name="WideScreen">0,0.125,1,0.875</AspectRatioMode>
      <AspectRatioMode name="Zoom">-0.17,-0.17,1.17,1.17</AspectRatioMode>
    </AspectRatioModes>

I suppose "LetterBox" ought to be named "FullScreen" and "WideScreen" probably ought to be "LetterBox". I don't use "Zoom" too often any more, but it's used to fill the screen when a 16:9 show is letterboxed on a 4:3 channel (or worse when a 4:3 show is centered in a 16:9 letterbox, then broadcast on a 4:3 channel).

Ok, I've included these with the changes you recommended.

What key did you end up using? I can't really see any key that looks appropriate on my MCE remotes.

As a user of a 16:9 screen, I very rarely find myself having to toggle aspect ratios. Maybe it's more common for 4:3 users though.

Sorry. Missed this. I am using the red key to toggle through aspect ratios.
