I've gone for the stick it in system32 and put regsvr32 filename.dll into a run window and I got the error message telling me the entry point wasn't found. I preume it should go in the sysWOW64 folder and a similar command to the one above is put into the run window, but I'd rather not destroy my currently working system through fear of not asking a basic question Smile
Just stop the NextPVR software and drop the file in "c:\program files (x86)\NPVR", replacing the existing file of the same name.

Quote:Also, can I run this along side WIN7MC (Same machine, same TV Card?) I ask as I want to move to Frodo and have everything inside XBMC, but I'm also keen not to lose any shows - I will be running a trial before I make the full switch. As a possibly stupid follow on question whcih I assume the answer is no, but if I can run them along side, can I record the same programme simultaneously through NextPVR and Win7MC? either using the same tuner on the TV card (I have a dual tuner TBS 6981 S2 card) or using the tuner that isn't recording at the time.
Yes, they can both be installed at the same time. You'll need to make sure you don't try use the same tuner at the same time, or one of them will fail.

Thanks Sub! Very much appreciated. I have got it working now and it's great, with the exception of an issue I'm having with recordings, again, the answer is probably right under my nose, but I just can't get it working. I've started a new thread for it so as not to pollute this one! Thanks again!

Sub, could there just be a sticky thread in the XBMC subforum titled "Latest nshared patch" where you upload the latest patch and date it?

I see forum posts from the past 3 weeks referring to the "latest patch" but it's not easy for me to find which one is the "latest"

Thanks for all the great work

Edit: I see the sticky, and the link to a 10-12-2012 patch. I notice the sticky post was last updated 10-12-2012. I take it the latest patch was 10-12-2012, but if a third post was added to the sticky with the latest patch it would be easier for the brain-dead people of the world like myself

The latest NShared.dll referenced in any XBMC-related thread is patch number 33 in my patch list (sticky at the top of the NPVR support forum, linked in my signature also). That however has already been superceded by patch 34 and 36; the newest version will be in the forthcoming R2 update.

+1 This would be great. We can give feedback to Sub faster this way.

To be honest, I cant be bothered continually updating a link to point to the latest NShared.dll, but I have updated the sticky to have the current file as at today, which has fixed a few more issues since the original linked patch.

Most people don't need the absolute latest, and will be fine with picking up the updates with the next release.
