device failed to start weirdness

Hi

I've been looking at moving back to npvr from mce but having an odd issue. I have 3 hauppage dual pci-e tuners. In mce i can record 6 clearqam or 6 analog channels at a time. In npvr, one tuner will always fail to start for clearqam so i can only do 4 clearqam channels at a time. The weird part is that i can do 6 analog still. Any ideas?

I'm not aware of any issues that would cause that. If you post the logs showing the problem, I'll take a look.

When was the failed recording, so I know where to look in the logs?

Analog recordings that worked would be the last thing in it. Clearqam that worked 4/6 would be prior i believe. I just recorded down the guide to see how it worked.

Maybe try downloading Capture4ME from http://www.capture4me.com (which is written by me), and check whether you can use each tuner individually or if some give errors.

It gives errors are tuner 3/4 running clearqam, same as in npvr, and analog still works. Sadly, no more details besides "failed to start". They work fine in MCE.

So it gets weirder, I had a spare dual tuner of the same make/model, so I swapped it out for the one that failed to start. Same issue. Records in analog, but not clearqam. I then decided to swap with the other tuners, regardless of what tuner was where, tuner 3 and 4 refuse to start for clearqam. Any ideas?

It would help us to have a clear timeline of events and the logs to match. Please run through a sequence of recordings that work and recordings that do not work. Post a reply here that lists the start times and show names for all attempted recordings and say which recordings worked and which did not work. And attach the logs that cover the period for all of the recordings. Thank you.
