Options for streaming live tv

Yes, I've installed xmbc on the florida PC. I then enabled the NPVR plugin on that xmbc. I then enabled Live TV. I then choose "TV Channels" from the xmbc menu. Then the TV channels appear along the left side of the screen with a picture of the lounge chair on the right side. I then choose a channel. XBMC/NPVR plugin then tunes in to that channel. At that point the channel just buffers. It will continue to buffer until the end of time if I allow it. I perform all of these activities and view the results via teamviewer and have even tried it after shutting off teamviewer to make sure teamviewer wasn't stealing the bandwidth.

I have never attempted this but I follow this forum and from my reading I suggest ...

1) Get a local solution working, possibly with the server and client on a single computer. Use NEWA ... the configuration instructions are here ... http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?n=Manual.NEWA
2) When local NEWA is working ... try NEWA from the remote site ... remember to allow access through the firewall ... you can change the bitrate and video size at the server to cater for the slow(ish) Internet as at http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?n=Manual.NEWA
3) When remote NEWA is working ... try local XBMC with X-NEWA using the same server settings as worked with remote NEWA
4) Try remote XBMC with X-NEWA
