Wow, looks like that did it. I tuned a bunch of channels from VLC on a remote system without issue. May I ask what the issue/fix entailed?

your link is no good, but I suggest you sit tight for the next release of NPVR due soon. It's got some additional fixes in this area.

I am having this issue - does the patch in post 10 still apply even after applying 3.1.1 R1a? (i am already running R1a)

No, patches for older versions can't be used with a later version (indeed using a 2.x version of a file with NPVR 3.x would be especially fatal). The fixes in that patch are included in all later versions however. I don't deny that you're having a problem, but it's unlikely it's the same problem as in this thread but merely similar. Please start a new thread and post your logs.
