Just trying to give the vid card the most power possible, and I'm trying to think if there is a need for any lvl of AGP or 3D settings.

On PVR-only box, just doing GB pretty much, is there point to running 8x or even 4x? The interfaces are nice and all, but I don't have the Quake guy running between the plugins or anything.

I don't think there's much difference between 4x and 8x. Might as well just leave it at 8x though; won't hurt things.

For fun though, you can test out how beefy your system is at playing back WMVHD by seeing if your machine can handle the 1080p version "Step Into Liquid" clip found here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows....se.aspx

I've found that this clip takes the most horsepower to run as my CPU is pretty much at 100% playing it (compare to the Terminator clip which takes only 65%) with lots of video stuttering. I guess it's a good thing that I don't have an HD display or any WMVHD content to watch. Otherwise, I think I'd have to get a better video card [Image: laugh.gif]
