I'm running Frodo 12.3 on an Android GBOX Midnight MX2 box with NPVR on my Win7 machine. I am using the native XBMC Live Tv 'app' as I am unable to get XNEWA add on to open. I have timeshift turned on.

I can watch live tv fine and I can also pause/unpause. I cannot, however, rewind and/or fast forward to current time on live tv. I attempt to rewind but the video continues to play forward but at a slower speed. I then have to fast forward a bit, the video pauses, and then I'm back to current time live tv.

I've also noticed that when I pause live tv that the current time I'm at continues to tick one second forward while paused. I would think that this would not move as it would indicate where you are in the program. I'm not sure if this is clear so I'll give an example. I am watching a 60 minute program and I am at the 20 minute mark. I've I pause, the OSD shows ' 20:00 / 60:00' .. The time, while paused, ticks up to 20:01, 20:02,20:03, etc.

I have no logs to bring to the table, but I am wondering if anyone has seen this before?

Android and Frodo are not a good mix since it is not h/w accelerated. The XBMC Android devs will tell you to upgrade to Gotham nightlies.

Martin, You know more about this than I do, but from my understanding, the folks that make the MX2 have a version that is hardware accelerated. There's a big stink about them not releasing their source and not adhering to the GPL. Again, I'm not sure if I'm even talking about the same thing that you're talking about. Was hoping for Gotham to get a little more mature before switching over.

I 100% support the XBMC.org position on using custom firmware. "If you have trouble with your custom xbmc go to the vendor forum support".

Gotham nightlies iare certainly stable enough to try, they have way more stable than the NextPVR client in my experience.

Martin, I agree. I was really trying to figure out if it was a problem with my custom firmware or if the problem was with XBMC itself or if it was with NPVR. I do appreciate your insight.

I am considering switching to Gotham based on your advice. I am using a MYSQL shared database and think I may have issues with keeping it moving to Gotham. I guess what I'm saying is if I move to Gotham then I'd have to upgrade all clients to continue to use MYSQL as they use different style databases. I could be wrong about this, but I seem to have remember reading that.

There are some PVR client issues in timeshifting that weren't fixed until 12.3 Frodo and Gotham a11+ nightlies, so I'd suspect the client first. Ask your vendor for 12.3 and then upload the logs.

Your suspicions were correct. The Android box is running 12.0 Frodo. I tried on my 12.3 Frodo windows install and things worked as expected. I'll see if I can't upgrade to 12.3 Frodo on the Android box, but that may be easier said than done in terms of support for hardware decoding.. It's a bit frustrating.
