Yes. If I click details on a channel in the Channel tab, the EPG source is set to XMLTV. also, when I manually update EPG by hitting that button in the Channels tab, it all works all right. I just don't want to manually hit that button every day...

Hm Eric, I'm not sure you have to hit the button everyday. What you need to do though is to make sure the xmltv files gets updated regularly. The EPGUpdate.bat is supposed to help you. It's located in the NPVR\script folder.

DVBGuide 0.95 works fine, but my challenge is to actually run it from EPGUpdate.bat. The command window doesn't open where I can se DVBGuide run as i do when I run the bat file separately. NPVR just "says so". I'll be back when I found a solution or maybe someone already has one.
the bat file:
@echo off
rem
rem
rem Notes:
rem - will normally need to be edited to specify tuning parameters etc.
rem - can be set to run as a scheduled task for completely automated guide updating
rem - (Vista only) must run as Administrator if using "-t" option to set system time
rem
..\DVBGuide -c490000 -o ..\NPVRguide.xml
..\DVBGuide -c522000 -o ..\NPVRguideTV4_6.xml
if %ERRORLEVEL% neq 0 goto End
:End

Hi, I know how to get xml data. I have been using GBPVR for more than 8 years. recently moved to NPVR and the only thing I can not get to work properly is the loading of EPG data into the tvguide. It can read the data, it's just that the automatic loading of the fresh xml file into NPVR doesn't work. Manually it does. How come?

Your best bet is to post the nrecord.log in the morning so we can see what happened with the overnight update.

I haven't checked the actual logs but I think he posted them already earlier today in this post

He attached them after my post (and it was in a different thread anyway).

Now finally i have verified that i managed to get it working. i am running windows 7 and have scheduled a task in the OS to run the batch file in my post above well before NPVR Schedule the EPG update. Thus I have made a workaround for my problem to run the batch file by NPVR and then update the EPG info.

It's not a neat and tidy solution but it works for me.

Thanks for all support in this thread. I'm the one that started it.

Should the batch file be named " EPGUpdate.bat"? And, be in the Programs/NPVR directory?

I have an "UpdateEPG.bat" in the NPVR directory and my xmltv and TVGuide does not update automatically. In the Users/Public/NPVR/Scripts directory I have a GetEPG.bat file. Is that what should be there?

If NextPVR finds an 'UpdateEPG.bat' file in C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts, then it'll run it just prior to running the EPG update process. It doesn't look for files called GetEPG.bat or EPGUpdate.bat

Thanks. I'll put it there. I figured it was name or location that was the problem because I moved it from my GBPVR directory on a different computer.
