I run with DVBfix applied - any time I need to do a scan, I remove it temporarily by running another batch file which I named 'unrunme.bat' containing the following code...

That is exactly what I did. However a far better solution for me was an upgrade to Vista as I had an unused license with the added advantage that several XP playback issues disappeared.

Under XP the NextPVR record service will crash when the second tuner becomes active and DVBfix will prevent this. Its not just NextPVR but is a problem for other similar software running on XP.

Thanks for all your assistance here. I couldn't get to the bottom of it in the end, so decided to load vista for which i had an unused license for. NPVR seems to be working solidly on that platform
