ComSkip?

It appears that the search is not working in the new forums so I have to ask:

What do you need to do to set up ComSkip to get it to work? I have read through the Wiki information but that didn't help much.

Any help would be appreciated.

install comskip.exe and comskip.ini into the gbpvr directory. Make sure that if you have a postprocessing.bat that it includes the line comskip %1.

It will now generate comskip data for any new shows. When you play a new show hit the blue button to bring up the On screen display. You will see color coding for the commercials. Hit play when in the commercial to jump to the end of it.

I thought Comskip would also be invoked by GBPVR without a postprocessing.bat file. I installed the three comskip files in the gbpvr directory and unfortunately it does not run after a recording completes. The only change I made was to add play_nice_start and play_nice_end options in the comskip.ini file. TIA.

I don't have an answer to your actual problem, but yes, comskip should run even withouth a postprocessing.bat file. But *if* you have the file, then you will have to put the command to start comskip in there, otherwise it will not run.

Sorry for the late reply. As stefan suggested, I do not have a postprocessing.bat file in the directory, so no need to add the specific command to that file. Comskip never seems to run after the recording completes. This is a new thing that occurred after upgrading to 12b. That being said, I'll write the postprocessing file and put the command there. Just wondered if anyone else had seen this problem recently.

I am using 12b and have no problem with comskip. I simply dropped all the files in the zip folder directly into the main gbpvr folder. Have you restarted GBPVR (all services) yet? That may be why it has not yet seen and used it.
