Ordered my Pi 2 last week. They shipped the plastic box already since it was in stock. This thing is going to be small. Never had one before so there is a learning curve ahead. Just wondering, has anyone made a pvr with this? I am familiar with NPVR and windows. The rumour is that Windows10 will be available for this Pi, maybe then?

The problem with making it a PVR as opposed to a client is the limitation of the NIC card being only 100 not gigabit.

If I simply wanted cheap and easy (yes we are still talking PVRs) I would probably have gone with the Wetek Play for Kodi and ATSC on and embedded box with no learning curve. Note only is the RPi's 1/2 networking weak at 100Mb it is shared with USB if that is how you want to store data. That being said for my backend I'd take a $150 Win7 refurb over any cheap embedded play simply for the flexibility of serving multiple clients.
