Thanks very much KingArgyle, I'll have a crack at some of these solutions (it's not a Dell or HP, so won't be one of those) but there are other various solutions.

Looks like a Reinstall of .Net 1.0 helped someone, others just disabled (de)bugger (mon ), others removed the "HP Image Zone Plus" software, others removed the "Dell Support program", others installed the "Microsoft .NET SDK" (which is a separate installation from the .NET framework), others adjusted the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Security Configuration settings, others added the user to the Debugger Users group.

The fellows I referred to in my post above only posted pics of error screen one, not the screen you get after the cancel button is pushed, so I am not sure of they also had the cordbg.exe error or not.

I wonder what broke it :confused: as I don't think I did anything but install 97.07 ...

P.S. I don't really want to choose the "disable the debugger" solution (unless debugger is simply not useful). The bit about the underlying error in the code ... compiled on a different version of the Framework ... could that be something? Referencing the two jpgs (errors) in my post above, the first would appear to be the "underlying error", and the second, the JIT issue, could simply be a missing debugger, that I never knew was missing as I never previously had the underlying error? I can probably (hopefully) fix the second following your post.

The .NET Redistributable does not have the JIT debugger. You have something in your code that causes this debugger to be invoked (error in the MSIL). The most likely reason is you compiled on a different version of the Framework than the one you have on the Production machine (this can include SPs, like you are deving with SP2 and have the raw Redist on the machine, with no SP).

How do you just shut off the pirorityrecording.exe so it doesn't run?

I haven't run into this error, but a quick web search turned up this possible solution: http://p2p.wrox.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8844 It sounds like a policy setting error. Let me know if that thread fixes your problem or not.

KA :Letting you know.... Nope

1. A delete of 1.0, 1.1 an 2.0 then Reinstall of .Net 2.0 did not work.
2. A subsequent reinstall of .Net 1.1 (keeping .Net 2.0) and Hotfix SP for 1.1 did not work.
3. Disabling the debugger in IE advanced menu did not work - already disabled.
4. Could not removed the "HP Image Zone Plus" software nor the "Dell Support program" as not a Dell or HP PC.
5. I did NOT install the "Microsoft .NET SDK" (which is a separate installation from the .NET framework) as the 1.1SDK is 106MB and the 2.0SDK is 354MB and will only fix the JIT problem anwyay. Darned if I need to try THAT to fix what seems to be an underlying error.
6. Adjusting the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Security Configuration settings did not work.
7. Could not add the user to the Debugger Users group - no users prompted.

How do you just shut off the pirorityrecording.exe so it doesn't run?

I can answer that
1. Find PostUpdateEPG.bat in C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr, right click, edit
2. put rem before the line "PriorityRecording.exe > recording.log" (or delete it entirely)

this will ensure it is NOT run automagically every time the EPG is updated (and throw up that error)

What does it do? Priority Recording??? What will change if you rem it out?

It is part of CDK scheduler, which is part of the Xrecord Suite.

I believe it helps prioritise recordings in the event there are many to choose from and you either have a conflict, or don't have enough tuners.
