Hauppage Remote Control: Changing Channels

Hi all,

I just got my PVR-150 and install GB-PVR. At first the remote worked fine. Then I updated the drivers for the PVR-150. Now the remote gives me buggy results.

When I start GBPVR I get the main menu screen. I can scroll up and down the options. So far so good. However, when I go to live tv and hit the channel up button, the channel information "screen" displays. It allows me to scroll through that but not physically change the channel.

And I did do the RC fic in configure.

Did you remember to stop & restart IR.EXE?

Yes, I did stop and restart Remote IR. I just can't seem to get the channels to change using the remote. The volume works and the up and down arrows work on the main menu, but not the channels. Oh, and the numbers don't work either. I hit 22 on the remote control and the overlay screen pops up display what's on channel 22...but it won't change the channel.

Please help if you have any ideas...thanks!

I see many of you have viewed this thread...does anyone else have this problem or a solution?

I REALLY want to use GBPVR. It is by far the best program I've tried and the price can't be beat .

Just to recap:
I have the PVR-150
I installed GBPVR and did the remote fix in the configure tool
I restart IR
I launch GBPVR
I can use the up down controls on the main screen
When I watch live tv however, the channel up and down buttons simply bring up the channel overlay and let me scroll through those channels (but the physical channel doesn't change). The numbers on the remote simple appear on the screen when pressed, but the channel doesn't change.

Can you try using "direct access to hauppauge remote"? (I don't remember the exact phrase used in the config app, but it would be something like that.) I think you'd also need to turn off ir.exe if you use direct access. I have no idea if this would solve your problem, but it could be worth a shot =)

Thanks for your response. I have tried shutting down IR and then selecting the direct use option. The same thing happens.

Anything else? I wish it did work!!

I am wondering...I thought when I first installed GB-PVR it worked perfectly. Then I installed the Weather Plugin.

I can't remember if the remote channel change issue happened before or after I installed the Weather Plugin. Could that plugin have "damaged" something?

Any thoughts?

I had a similar problem with my PVR 350 (some remote buttons working, but not arrows), I found that the hauppage IR ini file had been reset. To solve it, I simply edited irremote.ini with the info from here : http://www.bladerhq.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...rremoteini
