Trouble with season pass for just one show.

In preparation for the new fall TV schedule, I have gone through and setup season pass for all of the shows we want recorded. All but one of them worked fine, and I see the associated episodes under Pending Recordings. The only show I had trouble with was Survivor. When I try to record all new episodes, or just all episodes on this channel, it saves the job but does not highlight episodes in red in the guide, and no episodes show up under pending recordings. There are no conflicts for that timeslot, and if I do a quick record, it successfully adds the individual episodes to the pending recordings - just not with season pass. I am using Schedules Direct - zip code 14301, and tried on both WIVB-HD and CIII-DT. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

The default setup is for recurring recordings to not record episodes that the database shows have already been recorded. However, setting a specific episode for recording (with quick record or through the record menu) will schedule it for recording. So, it sounds like you are seeing this behavior. I believe that the log will indicate something like "not scheduling recently deleted episode". And you can go into the settings and disable that behavior to test it.

Presuming that the Survivor episodes you're looking at are indeed new ones, the bigger/real question would be why NPVR is thinking that they were already recorded. With Schedules Direct as your EPG source, you should be getting good, valid show IDs. The only case where I've seen something similar is when a show got pre-empted so didn't actually record the first time it was scheduled. But, NPVR doesn't know that, so it still stores in the database that it was recorded. With the latest version, sub has added a menu option so that when we find such a recording, we can select Forget and NPVR will remove that episode from the database of recorded episodes (and then will record it when it actually airs).

I just setup NextPVR on this machine last week though, and the new season of Survivor doesn't start until Wednesday. As such, the system has never recorded Survivor, so I don't think it is a matter of NPVR thinking it has. I'm at work now so I will take a look at the log this evening.

Logs attached. It looks like it thinks the episodes were recently deleted, which is incorrect since they haven't aired yet.

nextpvr.exe -removehistory
then go to Settings->Channels and click "UpdateEPG". All will be well.

Thanks johnsonx42. That seems to have fixed it. Not sure why a future show/episode would show up as recently deleted but I'll go with it.

recently deleted also holds future recordings that you canceled. if it doesn't put them in recently deleted, then the recording would come back the next time the EPG is updated.
