Client Freezing watching Live TV in SD

I might as well chime in.
I have the same problem with my client; live TV will eventually hang.
I have had this problem from day-1, so I just use the client to replay recorded shows.
It would be nice to have the option to watch live TV.

My two cents, I greatly prefer the UI of NextPVR over Kodi. Kodi always seems far too busy, with too many menu options hidden or in bizarre places. NextPVR has really got intuitive UI on its side. Would love to get my clients working.

So I'm just wondering if there was ever any resolution to this problem, it was quite bad for us tonight, had to restart several times, and always at a crucial point if the story!

Overall, LiveTV on my clients work well most of the time, but on occasion, like for @jrockow, LiveTV simply hangs without any notice, either on SD or HD. It is certainly frustrating for sure when it does happen. Unfortunately, it normally happens when I am not in a position to save the logs.

It just so happened that an HD channel froze twice in a ~20 minute period just now.

Using HDHR Prime with NPVR in client/server mode. logs from both client & server are attached (see last ~30 minutes of logs)

However it looks like when you tuned that channel you were using channel up/down (which has it's own problems) to tune from and the channel you were coming from (CNNHD) might be encrypted so video graph might have been messed up.

I used the up/down channel as the method to restore LiveTV in these cases. There are no encrypted channels in my setup, I removed those channels in settings:devices to avoid what you are referring to.

The freeze/hangups are occurring while watching LiveTv without changing any channels or any user interaction.

Note, these hangups occur on only "certain" channels, not all, in fact most don't have this issue at all.

I suspect that there might be some sort of intermittent glitch in the video being delivered by the provider (Verizon FiOS) that NPVR can not handle, even though HDHR is reporting constant 100% signal strength and quality metrics. It should also be noted that when using HDHR View to watch LiveTV on the same subject channels, hangups DON'T occur. I turn on NPVR on one client and View on a 2nd client. NPVR freezes and and View does not. Then I have the 2nd client run NPVR and the 1st client, View. The same thing occurs- NPVR client hangs, View does not.
