How about taking into account the frequency in which I am asking the show to be recorded. If I ask to record a season it is a very good indicator that I am recording a TV show, whereas a one time recording + long length is a good pointer for movie. Just a thought Smile
I can look into adding some logic like that. As mentioned though, this isn't going to get you your artwork for these shows - the duration logic I added already has it preferring tv show artwork (over movie artwork), but these tv shows have other tv shows with the same name that are returned earlier in the list.

I see what you mean there. Can using the original air date (or NEW tag) help you further pinpoint which show we are talking about? If show names match from say 1996 and 2016 it would make things a little more obvious I think.

Original air date stuff is really inconsistently applied in xmltv sources. It often means the first time it was aired on that channel. Also, it's often an episode that aired years after the original air date for that show...

For example, Last Man Standing returns these couple of results (and some others)
Code:
<Series>
<seriesid>75670</seriesid>
<language>en</language>
<SeriesName>Last Man Standing</SeriesName>

<Overview>You're a single metropolitan male in your late 20s in the mid-2000's. You've finally found the one haircut that doesn't make you look like Richard Branson, got money in your pocket and a well-thumbed book on tantric philosophy that's taught you to make sex last a full 10 minutes. Your job is now a career, your friends are for life and you've learned not to tell 'that' joke in mixed company. The pressure's mounting on you to take that step into the big leagues. Your parents aren't getting any younger, and you'd like to present them with some form of significant achievement before it's time for you to change their nappies.  And it's not even that you particularly want to get married; you're just annoyed that you've never been asked.  Even then, you'd still prefer to be single on alternating weekends and public holidays. But you're resisting.  There's still a bad taste in your mouth when you think about matching quilt sets and 'a quiet night in'.  </Overview>

<Overview>Mike Baxter is the marketing director for an iconic outdoor sporting goods store "Outdoor Man". He loves to have adventures while he's traveling for work and, of course, he drives a pick-up truck and Mike loves to share all his opinions as the Outdoor Man on the internet. While Mike is king of the hill at work, he's the odd man out in a home that is dominated by women -- namely his wife, Vanessa, and their three daughters, Mandy, Eve and Kristin. After being a stay-at-home mom for years, Vanessa recently returned to the workplace. As a result of Vanessa's increased work load Mike is pulled into more hands-on parenting than ever before.

This episode having an original air date in 2015 doesn't help me decide it was a show that started in 2011 vs 2006.

Does the fanart host API allow you to search show name and episode title? That would give you 2 points of data to identify the show. Just tossing out a few ideas Wink

imageGrabLite might work better for getting these matches on recordings.
