Listing Of All Upcoming Movies

I just added a bunch of channels and with Comcast basic digital that comes to around 80 total. I'm wondering if there is any way to view a list of all upcoming movies, using the standard guide? Or any alternative way to do this... I'm on Schedules Direct if it makes a difference... thanks.

The "TV Listings" addon can do this. You just choose the category MOVIE. It works just fine except it gives you a big list of movies starting with the ones scheduled to air soonest. So it takes a long time to page through them to see if there is anything of interest to you. And of course it repeats movies many times as they will often be on multiple times within the schedules direct schedule. Basically it is chronological vs just a complete list of movies which you could select from. I've been considering trying to modify (or make a new addon) that just lists all the movies and then allows me to select it. Once selected then I would see all the times it is scheduled to be aired. That would ideally be they way I would want it. Just haven't had time for it yet. I may be retired, but I am still pretty busy.

The Searchlite plugin with lets you browse movies by genre.

It even plays trailers from youtube when the youtube plugin works (only via x-newa web client on Kodi right now)


Go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBcEl1295Tw about a 1:30 in and you can see SearchLite change into genre mode then movie mode (this an an older RPi so faster on newer machines)

Hey, thanks for the info. I have SearchLite installed and I just did not know it could do this. For sure, no need to write or modify an addon/plugin now.
It works very nicely for this function.
