I have some more info from some live tv watching testing I've been doing. I have had the file manager open and splitting the screen with whatever media center I'm using and here is what I've found. First the anti virus ignoring doesn't seem to be what is happening. Not sure why it just suddenly became worse but this is what I've found.

-Watching live TV with Emby: No errors the temp file appeared and then disappeared every time with no problems.
-Watching live TV with Emby android/remote: No errors the temp file appeared and then disappeared every time with no problems.
-Watching live TV with NextPVR: No errors the temp file appeared and then disappeared every time with no problems.
-Watching live TV wth Kodi: Some times the temp file will not delete. This also causes the tuner indicator to stay red locking the tuner from being accessed by any other media player. I can still change channels while using Kodi, this seems to be the reason that scheduled programs still record while this is happening. Also why I never notice this is happening until I try accessing the tuner/capture card from another source. This is also the Hauppage Colossas II video capture card not standard tuner. Don't know if that matters but I thought it might.

Looks like this is a Kodi problem and if nothing like this is happening to anyone else I would suspect something in my specific Kodi/NextPVR configuration possibly. It doesn't appear to be anti virus.

I added the C:Temp file location and the directory where the recordings are stored to the ignore list. That's a good idea maybe it will have some effect.

I've continued with some testing and I think the anti virus issue is definitely not the problem. Something with my Kodi is causing a temp file to not delete and that starts the problem. This file then causes any additional temp files created, after changing channels, to not delete either and that must be what is causing the entire drive to fill with recordings. This is what causes the other media centers to not be able to use the tuner. Also after attempting to access the tuner with other media players and then going back to Kodi it will then also produce the tuner not available error and not be useable either. I hope this will give you some ideas. I don't have any idea as to what is happening here but this is as much information on the problem as I've been able to gather after several hours of testing.

Hey guys, thought I'd chime in that I'm having the same issue as the OP with the same setup (Kodi and NPVR addon) I've attached all the logs in the folder, and I can verify that it is during live tv in Kodi that this is happening. The files in the c:temp folder always start (for me at least) with live-.... Currently it's happing with the live-whrm-hd-8576 file (there are now 5 separate instances of them even though I'm not watching live tv at the moment) that's in one of the logs I attached. Hope this helps with a fix and keep up the great work!

Also, the system tray icon will always be a static red when this is happening and status states it is recording even when I'm not in a program (Kodi) viewing any live channels. If I restart the recording process it will stop the file generation and I can delete all files within the temp folder, but that's the only way I've found so far to stop this from taking up the tuner's usage.

I believe the weblog at 4:56 is the one that states the video file in question if that helps!

Oh yes I also can't delete the original file created in the temp folder as Windows states it is still in use by NPVR recording service, at least until I restart the recording service. I can however delete the multiple iterations of same filename after the original without restarting the recording service.

I have seen that a lot in pvr.nextpvr when testing timeshifting. the channel.stop request doesn't always stop the lease renewal.

So I disabled time shift in the pvr.nextpvr add on in kodi and that seems to have been the issue. It's early but I've tried to reproduce the problem twice and it hasn't happen d. I'll test further and keep everyone updated. DParsons try going to settings > addons > my addons > pvr > pvr.nextpvr > configure in Kodi and disable time shift, see if this helps. If it happens again I'll post the logs again.

Martin thanks for the reply!

Edit: So I just fully realized what disabling time shift does... It's not ideal to be unable to pause live tv and such but it is a better option than having to go empty my temp folder every day Smile at least for me because I don't often have to pause the television anyway. I'm sure there will be a fix soon and full implementation will be restored. Cheers again for the help and for the continued development of this app!

Same issue here. But, if I switch the web interface from modern back to classic, all is well. I will post my log files....it wont let me view any data in the modern one..no tv guide, no recordings, no pending schedules,..etc...etc....
