I think this is related to a HDHR bug fixed for the next release. A patch was posted for somewhere here a few weeks back, but I can't find it.

It's weird because it was working perfectly fine for weeks up to this morning.

Sorry - to clarify - what do I do with that zip? where do I unextract it to?

If it was what I was thinking, then it was likely triggered by the broadcaster changing some attributes in the PMT, which pushed it over a certain size.

Just replace the existing .ax file of the same name with this new one. It's in c:\program files (x86)\npvr. You'll need to stop the recording service to replace the file.
