How is this handled?

Does the client use the same DB that the server uses?
If so, then the playback position should be the same for both the client and server?

I've seen an instance where my client reports a recording has reached the end and "do I want to delete it" but if I go to the server it will resume where I originally stopped it.

Yes, they share the same resume information, so that you can resume from another machine.

I'm guessing it's something to do with the duration of the file being reported strangely on the client. If you want to post the logs showing the problem, I'll see if I can work out why exactly.

Here you go.

There are 2 recordings with the error; Grease Live and Grease 1978.
I tried both PLAY and RESUME and neither file will play.

So the file doesn't play at all, or just wont resume where you want it to?

Did you import those mkv files as recordings? Only .ts files play on clients. Also whatever your used to import recordings looks to be creating "bad" recordings.

Edit: They should resume ok from the Video Library.

Sub,
That's correct, the recordings won't play at all; keep getting the EOF message.

Martin,
The files were imported using the VIDIMPORT app that's been around for awhile.
I wasn't aware that only TS files work on a client; I thought I used imports in the past. Guess not?

As you suspected, they resume OK on the client using the Video Library.
That's a shame, cause my client is my wife, and it's not easy teaching her new tricks Smile

Can you guys think of any way I can work around the TS restriction?

THANX to you both; you always come thru.

Martin is correct, you can only play recordings from a client that are in the original .ts format that NextPVR records, since the client/server streaming support is designed for ts.

You can play other file types from the Video Library on the client.

Alternatively you could look into using nlite or xnewa client instead, which uses a different mechanism for streaming and playback.

If you map R Drive on your client exactly the same as on the server you might have some luck.

Martin,

Mapping the R drive allows me to play the file on the client.
I can't RESUME, only PLAY from the beginning, but that's a huge step.

Thanx again.
