I just installed and setup NPVR and connected my channels to the OTA listings (option 1). I updated the EPG and only got 2 hours of listings. The rest of the schedule is "(no show)".

Is this a problem with using the OTA listings? Do I need to go to Schedules Direct to get a decent length of schedule? How many days is typical?

In the US, we typically have about 20 days of schedule data for most stations.

Just in case you didn't notice his avatar, when he says "we", he means SchedulesDirect. What you are seeing for OTA is typical for North America.
Tuners: SD HDHR Prime (HDHR3-CC). SD HDHR Connect Quatro Tuner (HDHR5-4US) - only QAM.  EXVIST H.265 Encoder - capturing cable box.
Client: Odroid-N2 running knewc on KODI - connected via MoCA.
EPG: SchedulesDirect
Provider: Verizon Fios
Server: Dell XPS 8700 with Windows 10

Yeah, unfortunately they typically only transmit a few hours of listings for the OTA EPG in North America. Most people in that part of the world are using Schedules Direct.

OK - Changed over to schedules direct and now have 2 weeks of listings when I view it in NextPVR. When I view the guide using the Kodi/NextPVR plugin, I only see a couple of days. I just changed the setting in Kodi to 21 days, but nothing changed. I guess I have to wait until the next update for it to fill in the guide. Is there a way to force an update?

You might need get Kodi to reset the PVR data. I'm not sure where they hide this button these days.

Go to System->Settings->TV->Guide and click on Clear command to clear and reload guide from the PVR plugin. Now have the same 2 weeks as in NextPVR.

Is there a similar setting in NextPVR since I am only getting 2 weeks and rkulagow said there should be 20 days?

You can tweak how many days it askes for with the manually-initiated or overnight Schedules Direct EPG update using these settings in the config.xml:

Quote: <SchedulesDirectDays>9</SchedulesDirectDays>
<SchedulesDirectDaysOvernight>15</SchedulesDirectDaysOvernight>

The first one seems to set the number of days to download from SchedulesDirect. What does the second parameter control?

The first one is for manual updates and the second is for overnight.
