Sorry about this but I'm a newbie and can't seem to find any info on this ...
I'm running a pvr 150 and 250 how do I tell GBPVR which card I want it to record from...

There is no way to do it from within GB-PVR. The program will schedule the recordings across the available cards as needed.

2x 250 GB data drives, RAID 0

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to specify which card records?

Thanks for that. I was also trying to work out how GB-PVR records when using two cards. But obviously as you say, it picks the next available one to do that. Thanks

Don't take this as gospel truth, but here's my understanding of how the logic currently works. Generally, GB-PVR puts all recordings on the same tuner unless:

1) Programs overlap (like 1 from 8-10 and another from 9-11)
2) Programs are back-to-back (like 1 from 8-9 and anoter from 9-10)

As far as I can tell, that's it in a nutshell.

Thanks. I hope SUB will put in a way of telling GB-PVR which tuner to use for recording

I don't get this. I thought when you have multiple tuners, you end up with double the channels (which is why I renamed them to distinguish). How do you end up grouping them so GB-PVR selects the source from a choice ?

I ask because I want to buy another hauppauge PVR, and not sure I want to have GBPVR select its down device or not.

Currently GBPVR selects the first card installed as Device #1 for default.
If a recording overlaps, it will then use the second device for it. You don't have to name the second set of channels differently. GBPVR simply uses the first installed card for everything, unless you attempt to do an overlapped recording, or live tv, then gbpvr uses the second card if the first is busy doing anything.
I have two PVR-250's and I like the way it's handled. I don't have to worry about my recordings getting messed up, no conflicts to sort out.
You can never have enough tuners!

Use cdk scheduler it allows you to specify the capture source.

Guide2j, Fastfind and xrecord make it easier to use.

Okay, remember I am new at this, but please tell me what it is I have done differently, because I know I don't get the behaviour above. When I tried doing a conflicted recording, it said should I cancel number 1...no other choices.

I have setup as follows
PVR 350 - video in, as Capture device One. It as a list of channels-a (xmltv). (from SKY)
DVB 300i - Digital TV as capture device three, It has another list of channels-b (xmltv) (on Digital TV)
PVR 350 - analogue in, as capture device three. It has a list channels-c(xmltv) (from 2nd SAT Box)

Each channel list has the names changed so now instead of seeing
BBC1
BBC1
BBC1
I see in the EPG
BBC1 SAT
BBC1 SKY
BBC1 DIG

GBPVR doesn't select device number 2 as an input device (luckily as reception makes it a poor choice). Obviously can't select capture device 3 as a choice, since it is device 1.

So what is it I have setup differently ? How do you get GBPVR to recognise the three BBC1 as being the same ?

Thanks
