The last version that worked with 3rd party software was March 2013 version so I think we can probably say it is past it's sell by date.
I've used LAV for all non ts files for years - it was the incompatibility with the Microsoft Demux that stopped me using it for Live TV.

Now I've got used to it for TV - I'm liking it

Just removed PDVD from my HTPC. After all it was probably a bit dodgy to use it seeing it was a commercial codec.
