Hello,
Can someone tell me what most needed programs are needed within windows to run NEXTPVR? Both for a server and for a client. I am sure there are programs and processes running within windows that are just not needed slowing down the machine.
Thank you,
Bruce

You can right-click on the taskbar and start Task Manager ... click More Details and then click the CPU column heading to see which processes are using CPU ... I expect that you will see that nothing is using more than about a few percent and that nothing is having a significant effect on the speed of the machine.

For completeness, you can uninstall anything you want and it will not affect NextPVR ... except the drivers (and, perhaps, utility software) for your tuner devices and the video and audio decoders

This is a good place to start but there are other similar web pages:-

https://www.askvg.com/beginners-guide-to...-services/

You can also go into "Programs & Features" in Control Panel and disable any unwanted features.

Some years ago I had some software which asked lots of questions about what you were doing with the computer and disabled features you did not need.

On a client you can disable "Server". If you are not using Wi-Fi you can disable anything to do with Wireless! Usually disable "Printing" and "Image Acquisition", "Geolocation" "IP Helper"(if not using IPV6), but there are so many services with a vague description you just dont know when they are needed!!
NextPVR Server - HP N54L Microserver, Windows 10 - Storage 2 X 3TB - Tuners DVBSky S952 Twin DVB-S/S2 PCIe, Hauppauge Twin DVB-T2 USB, Telestar Digibit R1 Sat>IP Server.
Clients:- 2 X RPi3, 1 X RPi4 and Acer RL80 Celeron Nettop all running NextPVR New Client on LibreElec.
