Tonight I finally got to watch something on the 3.0 version of the app.
I can't fast-forward or rewind without first having to press down on the Apple TV remote (the 4K Apple TV remote, with the touch surface at the top), which pauses the recording. Whereas before, I could simply touch the remote's touchpad and it would bring up the bottom time bar and I could slide my finger to and fro to then select a different timestamp all while still watching the recording.
Now, not only do I have to press down on the touchpad first, pausing my show, but every time I go to fast-forward it starts me at the beginning of the recording. So, I have to swipe several more times to get to where I want, which is usually to skip commercials. Of course, I have to then choose these timestamps blind, hope I got close to after the commercials, then adjust from there.
Whereas the sensitivity of the touchpad was far too high in the previous version, it is better in 3.0. However, with its current sensitivity, coupled with kicking me back to the beginning of the recording, the whole process of fast-forwarding/rewinding to skip commercials really became a chore by the end of watching a one-hour show. Being able to fast-forward/rewind in intervals, ala Netflix, would be much preferred.
I can't remember if swiping downwards from the top brought up the UI, but swiping upwards from the bottom definitely doesn't do anything for me in 3.0.
Again, this is on the 4K Apple TV, and I am running it connected to a new installation of NextPVR 5.0 on a new Windows 10 install.

Yes, it was changed to behave this way. I was trying to make it more consistent with the playback behaviour I was seeing in other applications on the Apple TV.

It shouldn't be doing that. I'll check today.
Are you using NextPVR v5? Do you have 'Recording Auto Transcode' set to something other than 'leave as native video format'?

I am using NextPVR 5.0.6.200614 and "Recording Auto Transcode" is set to "Leave recordings in native format."

Any update?
I used the app the other day and, sure enough, the issue remains.

I spent some time trying to reproduce this today, with "Recording Auto Transcode" is set to "Leave recordings in native format", and wasn't able to reproduce the problem.
To check I'm looking for the right thing - you just start playback of a recording, press touch pad and pauses, then touch the touch and move to the right to a new position, then press the touch page again to complete the skip, and it goes back to the beginning? This seemed to be skipping just fine here
If that's the case, you might need to try collecting some logs so I can check what's happening. Restart the NextPVR on the PC and the Apple TV (to reset the logs), then reproduce the problem just once (with minimal extra steps etc), then post the logs and I'll take a look.
