It is probably too easy since sub is not considering hdpvr support for his next version https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...post528973 and it is something we dearly need in Canada. If there were more problems posts like there are with iptv maybe he would change his mind.

(the Hauppauge IR software doesn't support multiple blasters in a single machine, even though you can have multiple devices)

I use a USB-UIRT - works great with an exe, learning codes and supports multiple blasters.

That was only in reference to Linux. It'll still support hdpvr devices on Windows. Different platforms will support different devices in NextPVR 5 (since driver availability, and effort to support specific devices varies between platforms etc).

To make my setup work I wrote a windowless exe for Nextpvr to call for channel changes. Each box has its own set of codes in a subfolder of the IRSS software and my exe. I send the folder name and channel as parameters to the exe. If you want it let me know. Written in Lazarus (pascal).

I wouldn't mind having a look at this. I'm wanting to set up my dual-STB system (2 Colossus 2 cards - thinking I'll use component and SPDIF-optical inputs instead of HDMI...) and am examining options for channel-blasting. I was looking at IRSS, but couldn't figure out how to make it work with two different sets of codes.

(As long as I don't have to compile it myself - I'm not set up for that... )

Out of curiosity - which transceiver do you use? I have a USB-UIRT.

Out of curiosity - which transceiver do you use? I have a USB-UIRT.

I have a couple of HP usb ir transceivers and a couple of generic usb ir transceivers. I think IRSS is flexible on the hardware.

As stated, you need IRSS. When installing IRSS you have to check the boxes to get a full install for the command line utilities and code learning. I just blast the codes to both ports on the transceivers so the boxes are set up to use unique box-remote address codes - you can see the remote address for a Bell 6131 from Menu/System Setup/Installation/System Info. Mine are set to 3 and 6 so a box only responds to commands meant for it.

Use IRSS IR File Tool to learn codes for a box (Server/Connect/Learn IR/Save as). My codes are saved as 0.IR to 9.IR plus S.IR for the Select button. Save the codes in a folder name you can identify for the stb - mine are Bell3 and Bell6.

In my setup I created a C:\IR folder. I put the stbsend.exe file there as well as the IRSS command line blasting exes - irblast.exe and irblast-nowindow.exe and copied the stb code folders Bell3 and Bell6 to this directory. The folder also has various dlls in it and quite a few test .bat files from the testing process. That was 4 years ago so I don't remember what is absolutely necessary. Options here would be to put the stbsend.exe and the code folders in the IRSS program folder, or copy the IRSS folder files to C:\IR.

Nextpvr is set for an executable channel changer. The executable is "c:\ir\stbsend.exe". The arguments are the folder name for the applicable codes and the channel parameter e.g. "bell3 {channel}".

The executable was my solution for multiple stbs and hauppauge capture devices, not limited to just 2.

Hope it helps.

Thanks. I'll have a look at it when I get my system up and running. Smile
