Noob Trying to Understanding This

I have a Ceton InfiniTV 6 ETH, I know how to sort of set it up with WMC. It works but it slow, and laggy. I wanted to see if nPVR had the same issues but unfortunately I can't get it to do anything. I have it all set up with channels, each tuner, but live TV just gives a black screen, and sort of lags out. The temp file that is created, no data is in it. Recordings seem to do nothing either. I don't know if it's the fact that I am using windows 7, or what. As I stated I'm a noob at this trying to understand what I did wrong.
My codecs are some sort of windows codecs. And nPVR plays WMC recordings just fine with those windows codecs which I would think is expected. I will try to get more information if needed, I may also need help with understanding how to get more information.

Is this one of the network Cetons? If so my first guess is firewall software getting in the way of communication.

Selection of decoders will only become important after we're successfully getting data from the device. It sounds like we're not getting that far yet.

I fooled around with a Ceton InfiniTV 6 ETH for a couple of months trying to get it to work properly.
SUB spent quite a bit of his precious time logged into my system trying to help.
I finally got rid of it and replaced with a PRIME and never regretted it.

It seems to work fine if I completely turn my firewall off, any suggestions to not having to do that?

I've tried to Allow Ceton applications through the firewall, as well through private and public.

Great! Make sure you've got firewall exclusions added for nrecord.exe and ncablecardhost.exe, then you should be able to run with the firewall enabled.

Got it I was missing the ncablecardhost.exe and I changed the privacy to ALL. And I somehow fixed the codex for now no idea how. Thanks for the help. Now I just need to refind that thing about the guide.
