That isn't going to force it to use a specific tuner. That'll just cause the tuner to sit there, waiting for the signal.

At the very least you'd need to disable the tuner don't want it using. You do this in NextPVR's Settings page. Hold the Ctrl key and you'll get the advanced options for disable/delete. You'd need to disable the one you don't want it to use (and possibly restart the server).

Realistically, you might be better off playing around when you've got the splitter and signal feed to both. (though splitters with DVB-S can be tricky, since often they want power supplied by one of the inputs with power pass)

Was kind of hoping it'd say, well thats the only one with a signal so I'll use that one. but apparently not.

Might try disabling and seeing what happens, though yes I should try with the splitter. At the moment there's a spliitter from the LNB and that gets powered by a set top box which is on all the time and the other cable will go to the PC card which isn't powered. I'll have to split that one again and see what happens and hope there's enough signal...

Nope - doesn't work that way.

Using a set top box to provide power is the best way of doing it, since it's always providing power, unlike PC cards. I'm not sure about adding extra splitters though - might need to replace the existing splitter with a new one with more splits.

Will try the extra splitter first, maybe with some kind of booster thingy, otherwise I'll end up having to double up on the cables running through the ceiling from the other side of the house or something equally unappealing. All this fiddling for NZ TV, go figure...

BTW, have you tried the nz streams with IPTV in NextPVR? You’ll probably find you get slightly higher resolution that way can standard def via DVB-S

I’ll post those iptv urls if you don’t have them.

I set them up in the previous to this beta and they generally work pretty well, though some tend to stop quite quickly. Think Choice TV was one. OTOH the 1080 Prime seemed to be good. Obviously I'd prefer dvb-t to dvb-s but its what we're stuck with and satellite has the plusOnes and a few other bits.

When I set them up it was before the fix I think you you did about not having channel numbers in the xml files (that Geekzone thing) and I some how ended up with 197 channels all pointing the the TVNZ1 guide. I probably need to do it again at some point...

Oh yeah - I forgot about that.

Personally, when I import those apsattv channels, I typically unselect them all, and only import the few main channels I'm interested in. He's got a lot of crap channels in that m3u.

I haven't personally seen that happen.

Yep, should be more selective bout those channels. Tell myself I should check them out cos there might be some gems in there somewhere - never do.

But I'll redo it and see about that TVNZ thing. I'm just really good at putting things off...

Sub, as I posted to @rrbee99 on the Emby forum, I imported the kiwitv2 list and they are not all mapped to channel 1 in the current release. There are some standard issues with the m3u typical for those designed for Kodi pvr.iptvsimple, color markup, stupid URL's to make the list look better and embedded Kodi-style http instructions if you want to look a t it
