Tonight (at 20:46 to be precisely) I used the Config application to peek at some values. Afterwards I pressed the Cancel button to leave the application. I had a recording scheduled from 21:30 to 22:30 and at 22:08 I noticed the recording icon wasn't green. I was able to show the menu from the tray icon and even could show the recording status popup (which said the capture source was sleeping). After restarting the service (from the tray icon menu) it immediately started recording.

The end of the gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log shows (remember that I restarted at 22:10, the log shows 20:46):

Code:
4-18-2005 20:42:58.108    VERBOSE    [82]    RecordingFactory.loadSchedule()

4-18-2005 20:46:52.999    INFO    [4]    GB-PVR Recording Service shutdown complete
4-18-2005 20:46:53.905    INFO    [705]    Finalize called
The complete logfiles are attached.

BTW. I'm using GB-PVR 0.91.11 on a Hauppauge PVR-150MCE.

You sure you didnt hit the 'ok' button to leave the config app. These are the messages you get when you do hit ok in the config app, and the recording service is restarted.

To be honest, I'm not sure whether I pressed Cancel or OK. The timestamp on config.xml shows that it wasn't changed. The Event Viewer shows the Recording Service was stopped at 20:46:53, but it wasn't (re)started until 22:10:03. So the problem seems to be changed to a restarting failure.

The config.exe.log shows:
Code:
18-Apr-05 20:46:51.014    VERBOSE    [12]    Trying to stop recording service...
18-Apr-05 20:46:53.249    VERBOSE    [12]    recording service stopped
18-Apr-05 20:46:53.249    VERBOSE    [12]    Renaming gbpvr.mdb to gbpvr.mdb.original
18-Apr-05 20:46:53.296    ERROR    [12]    Encountered an error trying to upgrade the existing database: The process cannot access the file "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvr.mdb.original" because it is being used by another process.
18-Apr-05 20:46:53.358    ERROR    [12]       at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String str)
   at System.IO.File.Move(String sourceFileName, String destFileName)
   at ac.aq(Object A_0, EventArgs A_1)

I had a gbpvr.exe running (for the MediaMVP), but I doubt if that's the problem: I'm getting this error message in each run of config.exe and I'm not able to reproduce the original problem (with and without a gbpvr.exe running).

I was running v0.9.1.11, since I didn't find the changes in v0.9.1.12 irrelevant for my installation. I just upgraded and hoping not to have the problem again (but remember: I also couldn't reproduce it in version 11).

I'm using either the standard TV-Guide or the WebAdmin to setup the recordings. The recording of DrWho went fine, but I already saw it 'live', the recording is just a 'backup' kind of thing (and else there is always alt.binaries.drwho, which I also use for the documentaries).
