I have discovered how to set up a recording in the EPG but cannot find any way to start recording a program I am actually watching ,is there a way to do this?

shorcuts start the recording (ctrl k) but how do you stop a recording? There's no shortcut for that.

You would have to goto Recordings -> Pending ... and "Cancel" the recording there.  ... You can display the Live TV as a small window while you navigate the menus using PIP ... the keystokes for PIP are in the link above.

While you are watching live TV you are not watching the recording.   If you hit F1 you can get the OSD guide and can cancel it there even ctrl-k should toggle it off.

Thanks for your input guys but, Ctrl k doesn't toggle record, if you press it a second time it starts a second recording parallel to the firs one. F1 does nothing at all, the only way I have found to bring up the EPG overlay is the mouse scroll wheel but that only allows you to change the program you're watching and the only way to get it off again appears to be the ESC key.
The only way I have found to stop a recording is to exit to the main menu but that stops the program your viewing including any pip's open. There is apparently no way to stop recording while viewing a program.

As I posted you need to open the OSD TV guide with F1 then you can use the ctrl-k . If F1 is not bringing up the OSD guide you need to send your zipped logs. The mouse scroll bring up the the now/next guide.

F1 has started bringing up the OSG. I can't understand why it wouldn't before. things seem to be OK now. Thanks a lot for your help.
