Years ago I developed a DLL to use with NPVR.
My project references NShared and NUtility.
If I want to make a change to the DLL, must I reference the latest versions of NShared and NUtilty?
It appears as though the versions referenced in my project are much older than the current versions.

Of course. I am assuming you are net framework so you would need the client dll's not the server.

Yes, I'm using net framework.

Are you saying there are different versions of NShared and NUtilty for both the client and server?
The dll I've been using for the past years runs the same on client or server.

Anyhow, I've been trying to recompile using the latest versions of NShared and NUtility but have run into a problem:

Warning 2 The primary reference "NUtility" could not be resolved because it was built against the ".NETFramework,Version=v4.6" framework. This is a higher version than the currently targeted framework ".NETFramework,Version=v4.5". NewRec

I currently have .NETFramework v4.8 installed. I'll have to figure that one out.

It's because your project settings has it set to target v4.5.

I previously followed some instructions I had to unload the project, change the target setting, and reload the project but it still didn't work.
I'm probably not doing something correctly and will work on that.

What about the dll's being different between client and server?

For those two specific dlls, they should be the same.
