i am having problems with gbpvr crashing out when a recording is due to begin. I get a gbpvr recording service crash out error and the file that is recorded stys at 0kb. Any ideas what might be casuing this. I have reinstalled the lastest release. My set up uses MVP through a router

Is this an unhandled exception type error message, i.e., the kind that asks if you want to send to Microsoft. If so, clicking on the 'Details' link will show you the faulting module (it is szModName I think) - that might help pin-point the problem.

I have the same problem, but i think I've narrowed it down.

It only seems to occur when a new show is reorded for the first time, so i suspect (but not fully tested yet) that this is down to the directory and mpg file either trying to create in the wrong order or at the same time (with not enough time for the file system to finish creating the directory)

Going to do a few more tests will let you know how I get on.

Anyway, setting the GBPVRRecording Service to auto-restart in the recovery page of the service properties helps to prevent any 0 length or lack of recordings (thanks to a poster for that).

If it is, either sub could look at it for the next release or just create directories first for new shows in the recording directory

With the recovery fix you just have to contend with the annoying MS exception window but it all works ok

I have the same problem now that I installed a Nova-T card. It does not happen all the time. The last faulting module that I had with this type of crash was mpgmux.ax. I will try the auto restart thing ntil this can be fixed

Well, After testing humble pie being eat in large amounts.

nothing to do with The Folders for new shos, a complete red herring (sorry sub)

After delving a little deeper I find that it comes down to the Mux filter issues (as is found arround the forum at the mo)

Have moved to the intervideo mux for now to see how that holds up

Hello Darkside. Where did you get the intervideo mux from?

Probably from when I installed Intervideo WinDVD, can not be absolutely sure (a lot of things and stuff have been installed messing about between gbpvr and mediaportal) But I think it was
