I'm new to GBPVR and this is the only system (meedio, MythTV, MediaPortal) that works for me with my Nova-T 90002 card in the UK. Everything seems to work very well except when I record it only seems to capture a few frames a second. WinTV2000 records fine but I want to use GBPVR!!

I have a SATA drive on a ASUS Pundit 3.4Ghz (I think) Celeron.... I can playback DVD's, backed up DVD's as MPEG, I can watch TV via GBPVR and WinTV2000 records ok too... I just can't get GBPVR to work for recording.... Any ideas.... this is running on WinXP Pro SP1a on a fairly clean install....

Thanks in advance..

This sounds like a system resources or codec problem. If you play the recorded file using say WMP does it stuter? Try putting gbpvr in windowed mode and watch cpu utilisation. What does it show? If OK in WMP and cpu util is minimul try changing the default codec to something else apart from "system default".

Which BDA muxer are you using? Have you tried the other two?

Which mpeg multiplexer are you using, and what version of it do you have? This is the most likely cause of your problem.

I have tried the other two MUXes (I assume it's under MISC in the config and is the dropdown entitled BDA/Multiplexor)

How do I find out the version number as it does not have a version number in the drop down list of MUXes.... can you recommend a MUX I should use?

Thanks

I find the Cyberlink mux works well for me. I'm running v5.0.0.727.

The DSFMgr utility can be used to find the filename and directory of the file: http://www.softella.com/dsfm/index.en.htm

Bring up the properties of the file to see its version.

Thanks for all the advice, I did a fresh install of XP with SP2 and MakeDVD from Cyberlink to get the appropriate MUX, all working except no sound on playback of recordings so I download the moonlight decoder and now all is working perfecly.... many thanks for help.... long live GBPVR!
