Extended Recording Stopped Early

Tried what you suggested, Martin, but the results were the same. Things ran well for about 12 minutes, then tuner lights started blinking and it wasn't long before the tuner lights started going out.

First, tuner 0 output file closed at 12m28s , file size 827.5MB.
Then tuner 1 at 13m38s with 949.2MB.
Finally, tuner 2 at 42m25s with 3043MB.

Wireshark showed that there was a 5-second interval starting at 11:27:03 during which NO packets were received! This is what Wireshark logged at that time. I can post the full log if needed.

No logs needed it shows it is not a NextPVR issue and you can try for Hauppauge support.

You can also do a similar test with UDP but you have to use the "device" ID

OK, Martin, thanks. I'll see if I can get the UDP thing working, then I'll see what Hauppauge has to say.

Got to test the UDP version as shown in Post #22 and it resulted in perfect recordings. I plan on visiting the Hauppauge forums about the TCP issue but that'll probably take some time.

In the meantime, I would like to get back to V5 and was wondering about the feasibility of creating an "extra" device that can start the UDP version of Hauppauge output. It seems that I could create an extra device for each tuner that would run a .bat file to start the UDP .ts stream and specify another .bat file to terminate the stream at "PostProcessing" time. I believe that I could specify the SchedulesDirect EPG for program info.

Do you see any show stoppers to this approach?

I did quick test and I could not get the stdout method to work on Windows, but it works fine on Linux. You'd need to redirect stdout to avoid the dots.
