I'm currently using the link from Matt Huisman to stream/record Australian FTA TV through IPTV (m3u), which also includes a consolidated schedule for the channels, allowing me to set up recordings in NextPVR based on show names (e.g. record all occurrences of Farmer wants a wife when they air).

This has been working really well for around a year, but I really want to set up a server in the U.K. for a friend there, to start recording some of the UK TV using NextPVR in the same way. Does anyone know if there is anything that collects the UK free-to-air IPTV links, along with a schedule that will work in NextPVR?

Seems like there's nothing like Matt's link that I can find, is it explicitly banned in the UK for some reason?

I'm not aware of a UK equivalent.

I figured as much, I couldn't find anything when I searched. It's almost like the U.K. broadcasters are trying really hard to avoid IPTV, I guess, in favor of their own apps, which can't record stuff Sad

If anyone knows of any IPTV links that work, even just for the BBC or other FTA broadcasters, I may try to cobble something together myself (like Matt did). Getting hold of the schedule in the correct format seems like hard work though.

I think the UK is like most countries with Internet delivery of TV typically being through app's not IPTV direct. The Matt Huisman link's are not "real" IPTV in that you are linking to a proxy to the official links which may not be permanent.

A good example of the problem is this link to BBC IPTV https://gist.github.com/random-robbie/e5...91e7331657 to show how they change.

Thanks; yes I remember seeing that post a while back, looks like the closest we will come, but it still it seems like a lot of work to get it all set up and constantly updated. Just goes to show how much we should appreciate what Matt did for Australia...thanks Matt if you are reading this.

His lists originally had the direct m3u8 urls provided by TVNZ, Mediaworks etc. Later he changed it use fake m3u8 links on his site, which would redirect to the official streams. (to either isolate people from the need to change the urls if the broadcasters changed then, and/or to give him some visibility of the number of people using these urls)

The original broadcaster URLs are still there, and your really need Matt Huisman links to access them. He does provide a convient place to get them though...all grouped together and packaged in a format that most software can accept.
