Failed recordings ...error "Root element is missing"

I've been having a problem with failed recordings that comes and goes but now its missing recordings every day. Rebooting Windows 10 seems to restore recording for a day, but then all recording fail again. I tried the following without success. the error I get for failed recordings is:[Failed: Root element is missing.]

I tied the following without success: Updated to latest version 5.2.3. x , alternated between chrome and edge, turned off sleep, rescanned channels to my Haup quad tuner, set tuners to highest priority and finally added a HDHOMERUN dual tuner to my quad tuners for a total of 6 tuners but couldn't import channels and ended up with duplicate channels in my schedule after scanning with the HDHOMERun.


Oh, I have 4.2.5 running on another win 10 PC also using Hauppauge PCI tuners without issues and wondering if I can regress this this 5.2.3 / win 10 PC to use it without losing my recording history. 

I hope you can help.

When you installed V5 did you start with a fresh install or did you try and copy your old npvr.db3? That won't be possible for some tuner types.

I don't recall if v5 was a clean install or an upgrade from v4 to v5, I know I've upgraded V5 to the lastest version in hope of finding a solution.

It's weird because rebooting restores all tuners back in operation but usually within 24 hours, no tuner works and gives error [Failed: Root element is missing.

Forgot to mention but checking the prime tuner box makes no difference.

I haven't tried turning off my bitdefender anti-virus, but will be my last resort.

Is there a way to do a clean install but save my history of for shows previously recorded?

In addition, is there a way to import my channels saved to my Hauppauge tuners to a HDHOMERUN tuner?

Update Feb 2, 2022.: Turned off bitdefender anti-virus (free version) Dec 21, 2021 and eventually uninstalled it and haven't had a single problem since then.  I can't say bitdefender was the problem because 12 months ago the [Failed: Root element is missing) corrected itself but just as mysteriously return 11 months later.  All I'm saying is it's been almost 6 weeks without a missed recording.
