Dvbv5 workaround for Raspberry Pi?

I'm wondering if it's missing some firmware or something? I remember devices in the past I've used that looked they were present, but were non-functional until I added some additional firmware files.

Importing channels from other sources isn't currently implemented from what I understood.

This wouldn't have helped. The device appears to be in a non functional state (at least as far as libdvbv5 is concerned).

I installed the firmware and w-scan works. I tried tvheaded out of frustration which also works very well. Thank you for your fast answers and trying to help me. Apologies for switching to another product for now :/ It really seems to be a libdvbv5 issue.
