I just started making some DVDs of TV episodes I recorded with GBPVR. I have the full 150 card. I used TMPGenc DVD Author, and when playing the DVDs back on my DVD player on the TV,the volume is VERY loud. I used TMPG since it doesn't transcode/re-encode/whatever if the file is already DVD compliant, but it must be doing something with the audio.

Does anybody have any ideas? What other DVD creation programs will totally leave a file alone if compatible?

This is well documented in the http://www.shspvr.com forums, especially if you are using the composite / line-in on the card.

I have fixed (read: kludged) this with the Hauppuage Tweaker tool (think it's posted on the wiki. For me, I set line-in level at -16dB and disable AGC.

See if that works for you....?

Yes, these were recorded off of the composite, but they don't seem loud when over the MVP. They seem the same as the internal tuner videos. If it is the source videos. Does anybody have any good suggestions on utilities to tweak the audio down. Can besweet do that? I'll look into it tonight.

I haven't checked SHSPVR in months.

I use tmpgeng because it doesn't re-encode. It does a DVD in about 10 min. It totally leaves the video alone, and you can cut reasonable easy. It's menu creation is kind of iffy.
I think I have the "premium" package. I had bronze for years, and they finally quit grandfathering it, and I had to pick a new plan. (I hope this looks OK, I am on a blackberry right now)
