My Pi4 after trying to do an update from buster to bullseye isn't feeling well. So i'm looking to just wipe/reinstall from scratch.

Is it possible to export the nextpvr settings, and then import into the freshly-installed pi4?

Thanks,

Roland

If you used the deb installer you can copy the /var/opt/nextpvr sub-directory that copies all the configuration and database. For most configurations that will work, assuming devices are the same.

Probably did stuff too much brute-force, but seems to be working!

I did:
- zip recursively the /var/opt/nextpvr directory
- refresh the pi image, etc.
- install nextpvr
- stop the nextpvr service
- sudo unzip <zipfile>
- use chown to set the owner of the expanded files (otherwise these are owned by 'root', and nextpvr can't update any of these settings)
- start the nextpvr service

rebooted the pi for good measure, went to the nextpvr UI and voila, all my settings have been retained :-)

To make it 'nicer' - what's the command to change over ownership of the files back to user 'nextpvr' ?

UPDATE: actually i think that's the problem - these databases and config files are now sitting under user 'root' instead of 'nextpvr'...
UPDATE2: using sudo chown -R nextpvr worked, i think - i can now select new items to record, etc.
