What a great program, got it working flawlessly without any major problem. The only thing that I cannot figure out is how to set the Windows Firewall (Windows XP PRO SP2) to allow connections to the Webadmin. I tried allowing gbpvr.exe but to no avail. Any suggestions?

TIA,

Chris

Did you add a program or port? You need to add the port you're using to connect, not the gbpvr. At least this is how it is with XP Home.

I tried both - adding the port (I tried several portsettings) and the program, but still no luck. I can only connect with the Firewall disabled.

Now that I think of it, you probably should be giving permissions to GBPVRRecordingServices. That's the actual recording software and I assume web server.

Also, I know from personal experience that Nortons Anti-Virus internet worm protection can also prevent you getting through. You just need to add the recording service to AntiVirus Options->Internet Worm Protection->Program Control and give GBPVRRecordingServices all permissions.

I'm in the middle of a fresh installation right now or I could give you definate answers. It's been a while.

It took me FOREVER trying to get norton anti-virus worm protection configured correctly; at one point I even removed all the rules and added them back in, to no avail.

Not only was it stopping me connecting remotely to gbpvr, it was stopping an old win98 machine on my network from seeing other machines, printing to the network printer, etc. Grrrrr.....

I ended up disabling the work protection and re-enabling winxp sp2 firewall.

Allowing GBPVRRecordingServices did the trick!! Got a 100% and great working GBPVR system now.

Thanks,

Chris
