No Divx movies will playback to my MVP. I can play the movie files through WMP10, the Hauppauge software to the MVP and even through gbpvr played locally on my laptop. Mpeg movies playback fine to the MVP as well as live tv.

When I click on the movie file the tv goes to a black screen, the OSD shows with the proper video time length and the title (most of the time, sometimes just a black screen) then the error pops up on my computer, the gbpvr service restarts and the MVP reloads and comes back up to the main menu.

I also get an application event log error:
Faulting application Trans2MVP.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module quartz.dll, version 6.5.2600.2180, fault address 0x00023dc6.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Log files are attached however posting limits forced me to break up the gbpvr.exe.log into 2 parts otherwise all 3 of the logs are complete and untouched.

I've tried to replace the quartz.dll with the 9.0b version but that had no effect on the problem so I put the 9.0c version back.

Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks!

I think I found my problem but I'll leave the post up in case it helps someone else later on or in case my problem comes back Wink

I realized I was using an old version of FFDShow. I updated to the newest version off the sourceforge site and now I can play Divx's Big Grin

One of those flash of insight things right after you hit the submit post button...

Hope this helps someone else.

I have upgraded FFDShow as you indicated but this has not solved the problem :-(

I can also play the files in WMP and GB-PVR locally on the laptop, but GB-PVR crashes with the same error message as you were getting....

I'm pretty new to this so any suggestions as to what the problem may be would be really appreciated !!

My setup is:

WinXP Pro SP1, Directx 9.0c, .Net 1.1, FFDShow 20041012_SSE2, Hauppauge 2.2
GBPVR v0.91.12
Intel P4 2.0Ghz, 1GB RAM, laptop

I´ve got the same error, but then i installed XP Codec Pack 1.2.1 and this ends the trouble about this error for me. I can´t play DivX or XViD anyways, but no more crashes.

The Codecpack suggextion above worked for me...
Now I'm having other issues, but at least not a systematic reboot on any DivX playback
